Never Say Never – Part Deux
Speaking
of Never Saying Never, I want to discuss accents walls for a moment. In almost every circumstance, I would bellow a loud NOOOOO to anyone who asks about doing an accent wall. Not to be too polarizing here, but I think
accent walls are terrible, horrible, no good, very bad
things.
However,
recently I have been thinking of doing something unique to one of my kitchen
walls. Dare I even whisper, accentish…?! The horror. But I can’t get it out of my head that
putting a really fantastic wallpaper on my big wall above the banquette would
be bananas. In a good way.

So,
speaking of bananas, I have coveted this Martinique wallpaper for ages. I am pretty sure it is because it reminds me
of the feel of a Florida room my aunt had in her wonderous
mansion when I was a kid. In my mind, it
was this Palm Beach style sunroom but upon further reflection it might have
even been the dining room…Anyway, I love it.
I am
thinking this would be awesome along the big wall in my bright kitchen.

The banquette cushions are a black faux leather with contrasting green welt as you can see below. Ignore the pinkish stuff.

I love the white space - not quite as overwhelming.

Or am I totally bonkers bananas?! Now I find myself begrudgingly saying Never say Never to
an accent wall, of all things!
