Scenes From the Weekend

In spite of current temperatures, there is evidence that Spring is, in fact, on its way.  These lovely little daffodils came from my MILs yard.  We spent most of the weekend indoor.  Boo.  But instead of going stir crazy, we channeled that energy into some long unfinished projects.  Yeah.  Progress has been made.  And that concludes my short story for today.  Hush, it’s Monday.

Derby de Mayo Recap

Derby de Mayo fiesta was loads of fun.  Tons of good food, friends, and family.  There were some ‘staches,’ some pinata smashing, a baby drinking bubbles, and my husband lopping off the top of his finger on the margarita machine blade.  Good times…

Scenes from the Weekend…

Hope ya’ll had a lovely Easter/Passover weekend.  Easter is next weekend for us Greeks, the explanation of why having to do with the Eastern Orthodox Church following the old Julian calendar and observing Easter after Passover.  So our big celebration is next Sunday at my mother’s house.

In the meantime, we enjoyed a family-filled weekend puttering around the yard, celebrating Western Easter with mr. V’s family, and playing with an Easter basket goody…

Rich With Simple Pleasures…

Well, we weren’t one of the lucky three to win the Mega Bajillion lottery but life’s little luxuries have a way of popping up at unexpected moments here at Chez V.

 

Scenes from our weekend included getting back to food basics, futzing around the pond, re-watching Robert Redford as Roy Hobbs, and some spontaneous fun - each one a simple pleasure in our often frenetic life.  The sight of two heads together, one instructing the other on the mechanics of proper marshmellow toasting, made me feel rich indeed…
