Where the Heck Have I Been?

Oh hey.  Hi.  Where was I?  Smack dab in the middle of Summer is where and then whammo – off the grid without so much as a c’est la vie or by your leave or see ya on the flip, drip... Sorry.  It has not been a complete undocumented mess over in Chez V land as I am never too far from my phoney phone and an Insta trail tends to leave clues about where I have been and what sorts of shenanigans are occupying my time.  Our Chez V code of conduct these days as evidenced by IG:

Then I sent my little off to kindergarten.  On a bus.  In a uniform.  Feck.

Tomorrow, I return with news of a fab monogram giveaway from one of my favorite ladies and a story about how a company managed to successfully lose my business for life and longer.

And the Winner Is...

Well hoo-ray!  Lindsay is our lucky little lady this morning.  Your cocktailing just got a little more chic!  Thank you to everyone who entered.  I am a gifty kind of gal so rest assured there will be mucho opportunity to getcha some Chez V love.  As I said on Friday, I enjoy making stuff and sharing it with my friends, and you, my dears, are quickly becoming just that!

Today is a scouting day which means I will be out and about looking for goodies and inspiration.   One question I get asked most often is where I do I find stuff.  The short answer is everywhere.  But specifically, I have some regular haunts that I scout frequently.  Tomorrow I will talk more about where I scout and the key to finding the good stuff.

Have a great Tuesday - most productive day of the week!

kisses,  mrs. V

Glass Tumbler Giveaway

How about a fun giveaway to kick start April?  I realized the other day that I totally missed my one-year blog anniversary.  Ahem, back in January.  But I say better late than nevah!  So to celebrate, I want to give one of you lucky folks a personalized glass tumbler.

Of all the etched glass stuff that I do, the tumblers are my biggest sellers, by far.  I also give them as gifts quite often. These days you can get standard monogrammed glassware most places but because I do these by hand I can do just about anything which takes the personalization to another level.  I took a little etching hiatus after the whirlwind holiday season but I am gearing up to take orders again as we head into wedding season, Mother's Day, and graduation.  Take a gander…

Just imagine enjoying your vino (or water with lemon) in your very own personalized tumbler or with your blog logo!   To enter, let’s keep this simple:

1.  Become a follower of this blog, if you are not already

For additional entries:

1.  Follow my antics on Instagram
2.  Like Chez V on Facebook
3.  Follow me on Pinterest
4.  And if you are super awesome, you could blog about it too

Just leave me a comment below for each entry.  You have until midnight EST, Wednesday, April 3rd to enter.  **UPDATE**  Someone much smarter than me (thank you Linda!) suggested that I should extend this giveaway to give the weekend warriors a chance to enter.  And I agree.  You have until midnight EST, Monday, April 8th to enter.  Good luck!

Looks a lot Like Santa's Workshop

In spite of the fact that I no longer have feeling in my right index finger, things are steadily coming off the Chez V production line.  Fueled by coffee during the day and wine in the evening, I hope to emerge on the 24th with everyone’s name crossed happily off my list and perhaps a tree put up.

Love your busy but happy little elf

Bamboo Trim! I've Died and Gone to Heaven

First things first, a huge thank you to Christine Price, owner/operator of  LaDeDa Salon for hosting me and to everyone who came out on Wednesday evening for the Open House.  We had loads of fun - if you mix gals, vino, sparkly bits, and monogrammed wares – you have a recipe for a good time.  I took many orders for custom glassware and as I expected, the beverage bottle was a huge seller but I must say the star of the show was the vintage, one-of-a-kind  jewelry.  I sold many of my favorite pieces, in fact, one right off of my arm!!  As I was packing things up, ladies were inquiring about when I was having the next show.  I’ll take that as a good sign. More to come!

Secondly, I want to have a minute with this little piece of awesomeness.  Seriously, shut up with that tortoiseshell-looking bamboo molding.  And custom-painted grass cloth.  I mean.

Really I just adore everything happening about this little situation.  Kudos to Kevin Isbell who is responsible for the design.  It is in the Dec/Jan 2013 House Beautiful.  Newell and his crew continue to be at the top of their game.  I very much appreciate that he is dialed into the blog world and has featured many bloggers in this month’s issue in conjunction with the features.  But what is up with the website?    Am I missing something?  Help me to understand why I can’t ever seem to access the pictures or the features.  Is there some sort of secret knock? As a magazine subscriber you would think that I could access the ding dang website.

So ya get a picture of a picture.  Dumb.

Anywho, I am one tired lady.  I need this wknd to recharge like nobody’s business but I have a little something up my sleeve that requires mucho energy.  So here’s hoping that coffee and vino push me on through!

kisses,  mrs. V
